Prevention and Health Promotion

This area of programming works with schools, workplaces, community groups, and governments to help communities within the Annapolis Valley respond to issues related to substance use and gambling.

It comprises a range of programs and activities which are available to foster supportive environments and healthy choices regarding alcohol, nicotine, other drugs, and gambling. These include: education and training for the public, students, teachers, and professionals; community development; advocacy; and policy development. Our programs work to prevent use and to delay the onset of use by younger children and to prevent harms related to alcohol, drug use, and gambling.

For more information about our Prevention and Health Promotion programming, please contact our Prevention and Health Promotion Coordinator at (902) 542-1073.
