Community Health Boards launch 2018 wellness fund campaign
Community Health Boards (CHBs) across Nova Scotia are now accepting applications for wellness funds. The small grants support new and innovative projects that meet an identified community need.
Wellness funds are available to non-profit community groups/organizations who have projects that address CHB community health plan priorities and use a population health-based approach in addressing the social determinants of health including healthy child development, education and literacy, poverty and food security, social support networks, coping skills, improved personal health and more.
The wellness funds range from $250 to $3,000.
Applications are available on the CHB web site at www.communityhealthboards.ns.ca/wellness-funds, along with additional information. The deadline for applications is midnight, October 15, 2018.
There are 37 CHBs across the province. You can apply to more than one CHB if your project occurs in more than one CHB area, however a separate application is required for each CHB you are applying to. It is possible that not all projects submitted will receive funds, as CHBs frequently receive more applications for funding than available funds, but all eligible groups are encouraged to apply.
