Community Forum: Upstream Thinking for Health Taking Place on Thursday, Oct. 26
Three Cape Breton community health boards are sponsoring a free event this week that looks at issues impacting health in the area.
“Community Forum: Upstream Thinking for Health” takes place on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 7-9 p.m. at the New Dawn Centre for Social Innovation (former Holy Angels High School), 37 Nepean Street in Sydney.
Dr. Monika Dutt, a local physician and executive director of Upstream will speak at the event. Upstream is a national organization that focuses on creating a healthy society through the use of people centered ideas. The event will give those in attendance an opportunity to pose questions and engage in dialogue about issues impacting health in the local area.
There is no charge for the event, however donations for local food banks are welcome.
“Community Forum: Upstream Thinking for Health” is sponsored by three of Nova Scotia Health Authority’s community health boards (CHBs): Northside the Lakes, East Cape Breton County and Central Cape Breton County CHBs.
