A rewarding opportunity exists to join the Department of Anesthesiology with Annapolis Valley Health.

Valley Regional Hospital, in Kentville, is a 110-bed community and referral hospital.  The hospital is the main district referral site for Western Nova Scotia, serving a population of 200,000+ and most subspecialties are represented.  Valley Regional Hospital is located one hour west of the Provincial Capital, Halifax. 

The anesthesia service for Annapolis Valley Health includes a wide range of services for all the surgical specialties.  The Department offers experience with acute pain management, labour epidural, general anesthesia, ICU coverage and regional blocks.  There are six operating rooms located at Valley Regional Hospital with 8 Anesthetists and 24 Surgeons.

Interested Anesthetists must be Royal College of Canada certified or equivalent and licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia is mandatory.

Annapolis Valley offers a myriad of recreational and cultural activities which are readily available.  The area boasts beautiful shores, historic towns and villages, numerous golf courses, picturesque parks and nature trails.  Dalhousie University and Acadia University are located nearby as well as excellent elementary and secondary schools.
