Family
Physicians
accepting
new patients
The
Annapolis
Valley
Health
District is
aggressively
recruiting
for family
physicians
and we are
hopeful that
we will be
able to
attract new
physicians
in the near
future.
Until that
time, many
residents of
Kings County
will be
without
Family
Doctors.
Currently,
there are no
other Family
Practices taking on
new
patients.
Patient
Safety is
our highest
priority and
so we
encourage
patients
without
Family
Physicians
to utilize
the
following
clinics:
Eastern
Kings
Memorial
Health
Centre (Wolfville)
from Monday
- Friday,
5:00 p.m. -
9:00
p.m. and
Saturday,
Sunday and
Holidays
from 12:00
noon to 5:00
p.m. and in
Western
Kings
Memorial
Health
Centre
(Berwick)
Monday to
Thursday,
8:00 a.m. -
10:00 p.m.,
Friday 8:00
a.m. - 6:00
p.m. and
Weekends,
10:00 a.m. -
6:00 p.m.
Any
announcements
about new
physicians
will be
widely
advertised.
As new
physicians
set up
medical
practices in
the
District,
the AVH
Office of
the VP
Medicine
will update
a list of
family
physicians
currently
accepting
new
patients.
There may be
delays
between when
a physician
stops taking
patients and
when their
name is
removed from
the list.
Family
Physicians
are
independent
professionals
and choose
how to
develop and
restrict
their family
practice.
Some may
practice
part-time or
full-time
and some may
or may not
provide
"comprehensive
care" to
patients.
