Blood collection available again in community August 16
People in the Barrington area will once again be able to access blood collection services locally. Blood collection services will return to Barrington in a new, temporary location on Thursday, August 16.
The new, temporary location for blood collection services will be:
3640, Highway 3, Barrington - Clinic entrance is on the left-side of the building, near the back, next-door to the VON office.
Blood collection will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 to 11 a.m.
Clients may remember this as the former location of the blood collection clinic, before it was moved to the Barrington Community Health Clinic.
Services at the Barrington Health Centre have been temporarily relocated while an unusual odour in the office space was investigated. Air quality tests have been done and they indicate the air is safe. An assessment of the plumbing infrastructure has also happened. Inspection has taken place on various areas, including drains, ceiling, and walls.
Some further investigation still needs to take place in order to confirm the source of the odour. Depending on further results, there may be some work needed to fix any problems. Nova Scotia Health Authority will work with the owners of the building to identify any problems and plan for repairs that may be needed.
NSHA is committed to safety for all, and providing a safe, healthy workplace for staff and a safe environment for patients to receive care and services.
