Radiologist (Vascular/Interventional): Kentville

Calling Nova Scotia home means ocean views, active living and welcoming communities. Practicing here means working with passionate colleagues, providing world class care, and helping people be healthy and stay healthy, for generations. The Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and collaborative community-based programs across the province.

The Western Zone is supported by three regional facilities, as well as a number of community hospitals and health centres. Specialty services are distributed among the three regional hospitals located in Bridgewater, Kentville and Yarmouth.

The Western Zone encompasses the coastal beaches and fishing communities of the South Shore, the Acadian and Cajun historic French communities on the Acadian Shore, and breathtaking farmers markets, apple orchards and vineyards of the Annapolis Valley. Western Zone is home to the centrally located Kejimakujik National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage recognized Bay of Fundy. There’s something for everyone in this region, all within 3 hours commute to the capital city.

The Kentville Regional Hospital is recruiting a Vascular/Interventional Radiologist to join their team. The successful candidate must have completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional radiology and be comfortable with the general workload of a busy community practice including MRI, CT, ultrasound, general nuclear medicine and plain radiography.  An interest in breast imaging is not required, but would be an asset.

The position will include one to two days per week in the interventional suite.  Our department has a busy tertiary level angio-interventional practice including high volumes of PAD cases, supported by two full-time vascular surgeons.  The potential candidate must be comfortable with EVAR, which is performed jointly with the vascular surgeons.  The interventional radiologists participate in the general radiology call pool (frequency of 1 week in 9), with no specific VIR call.
Opportunities are also available to individuals interested in providing locum coverage.

Candidates must be certified or be eligible for certification by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
