Calling Nova Scotia home means ocean views, active living and welcoming communities. Practicing here means working with passionate colleagues, providing world class care, and helping people be healthy and stay healthy, for generations. The Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and collaborative community-based programs across the province.
The Northern Zone is supported by three regional facilities, as well as a number of community hospitals and health centres. Specialty services are distributed among the three regional hospitals located in Truro, New Glasgow and Amherst.
The Northern Zone is located in the hub of Nova Scotia where all roads meet in the middle of the province. This is the part of the province where people come to play on the shores of the Northumberland Strait that offer the best beachcombing and warmest swimming in the Province. This area is also home to a large fresh seafood industry and rolling wine country, and the quaint town of Tatamagouche. Truro is home to industry and a modern town located on the famous Bay of Fundy and a short drive to the Five Islands Provincial Park with beautiful shores of red clay and fossil finds. The zone is also home to Ski Wentworth, one of the ski resorts in the province and Fox Harb’r the legendary golf course enjoyed by celebrities from all over. Quick access to New Brunswick and PEI make this location a small town charm with regional access to the larger centres of Halifax and Moncton in less than 2 hours.
We are recruiting for a General Radiologist to join the Nova Scotia Health Authority, Northern Zone team at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre (CRHCC) located in Amherst. The CRHCC has CT, ultrasound, x-ray, fluoroscopy, and mammography services. In addition there are 3 small community facilities providing x-ray services nearby which are covered by the CRHCC group through teleradiology. On-call duties are shared with two other regional hospital sites. Procedures are limited to breast biopsy, thyroid FNA and similar. Remuneration is fee-for-service with bonuses available for on-call work.
