General Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon: Sydney

We are seeking a General Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon, to join our collegial group in Sydney, NS. Our team includes a mid-career ENT surgeon with a broad range of interests and expertise, a senior colleague with over 40 years of ENT experience, and an early career surgeon with a Head & Neck Oncology fellowship. The Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a large Regional Hospital with full OR facilities, ICU, and hospital-based clinic facilities. There are peripheral hospitals as well that have outpatient clinics available. The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has a population of around 90,000 and Cape Breton Island has just under 140,000 population. The tertiary care center in Halifax is approximately 4.5 hours away, allowing a broad practice and clinical autonomy, while still having support available for the most complex cases.

Cape Breton is a beautiful setting to live and raise a family. There are a multitude of outdoor pursuits all over the island, both in summer and winter. It is an area rich in natural beauty and was recently ranked the 3rd best island in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine. The sense of community and commitment to the development of region is second to none. Sydney boasts an airport with daily direct flights to Halifax and Toronto. The local primary care physicians provide a highly skilled referral base and dedicated support for patient care.

Applicants must have certification in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Nova Scotia.
