Family Physicians: Various Locations

Calling Nova Scotia home means ocean views, active living and welcoming communities. Practicing here means working with passionate colleagues, providing world class care, and helping people be healthy and stay healthy, for generations. The Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and collaborative community-based programs across the province. The province has family medicine opportunities throughout all four zones of the province.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority is actively recruiting Family Physicians for practice opportunities throughout the province. Communities within all 4 management zones have opportunities available. Practices range from participating in general practice in a community, to collaborative practice, to a focus on addictions medicine, pain management, obstetrics & gynaecology and palliative care to ER and hospitalist work. We are confident that there is an opportunity that meets your interests professionally in a community that meets your interests personally! Opportunities are in both rural and urban settings. We are open to part time and locum interests as well. Whatever your interests, we'd love to hear from you to start the conversation!

Family physicians must be eligible for a license to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and either have certification through the College of Family Physicians of Canada or be eligible for certification. Physicians interested in practicing in emergency or within a Collaborative Emergency Centre are required to have ACLS, ATLS, BCLS and PALS. Having the College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification would be considered to be an asset.
