Marie McCully Collier
Marie McCully Collier brings extensive knowledge about health and health care acquired from her career experiences working in the community. She is well grounded in patient and family centred care, the social determinants of health, health equity and the need to strengthen Nova Scotia’s health care system through the provision of long term initiatives that support making Nova Scotians healthier.
Marie has worked in support and leadership positions as a registered nurse, manager, educator, researcher, board member and volunteer while employed with Nova Scotia’s Public Health Services and with the Victorian Order of Nurses in Quebec. Now retired, she has remained active in the provincial and national public health community by more recently having served as President of the Nova Scotia Public Health Association, as Co-Chair of the Board for Maggie’s Place, a Family Resource Center in Colchester and Cumberland Counties, and as a facilitator of on-line modules for public health learners provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
