AVH Changes Blood Collection Service
Annapolis Valley, NS – Starting in late June, Annapolis Valley Health will reduce the number of days blood collection is available at two of its five sites. Service will still be available at Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre in Wolfville and Western Kings Memorial Health Centre in Berwick but on alternate days of the week.
Blood collection will take place at Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, Berwick on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the same hours of operation. Blood Collection will take place at Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre, Wolfville on Tuesday and Thursday with the same hours of operation.

Working towards a June 25, 2012 start date
EKM: Tuesday and Thursday, 7am – 10am
WKM: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 7am – 10am
VRH: Monday through Friday, 7am – 10:30am (no change)
SMH: Monday through Friday, 7am – 10:30am (no change)
ACHC: Monday through Friday, 8am – 9:30am (no change)
Annapolis Valley Health will continue to monitor services to ensure the needs of the community are met. The district will provide further information to ensure members of the public are aware of the changes prior to the effective date. Knox adds that the Community Health Centers will remain open and reasserts that these are an important and valued support for the community.
